All I've been doing this week is eating leftover turkey and sweet potatoes on repeat and it still isn't getting old. On another note, last weekend I learned that the face of an Italian trying candied sweet potatoes or sweet potato casserole for the first time is priceless. Complete shock, disgust, and hurt that you would ever try to pass off these patate dolce  as a main dish and not serve them for dessert. Celebrating this day with Edoardo's family and our Italian friends is always so memorable; I think they're actually starting to like when I force everyone to say one thing they're grateful for at the table, if only to hear me stumble along in Italian. Next week is short for us as the Immaculate Consumption is a national holiday. You can bet I'm looking forward to that and my December trip to the US in the upcoming weeks.
