Today marks the end of a three-day week and the start of a four-day holiday weekend here, which is the perfect opportunity for a weekend trip and endless Christmas shopping. The trip is still unplanned but I'm thinking somewhere not too far from Rome, by train or car. I'm very torn between a trip to a northern city (I need to get to Milan and Turin at some point) or somewhere in the countryside. Recently I've heard a lot about the terme in Tuscany and would love to see the hot thermal sulfur pools. As stressful as it can be to leave planning to the last minute, there's something undeniably fun about picking a spot and making it happen, in a matter of days.
